About Me

"Taking an image, freezing a moment, reveals how rich reality really is"

I was introduced to butterflies and moths as a young boy at Christ’s Hospital School by my then housemaster, Jonah, in his nature club.

I spent many summers chasing butterflies and moths, hanging around campsite toilet blocks late at night where moths were attracted to the lights.  Not such a healthy pastime these days!

A career in engineering took me to Portugal in the early 80’s where I met an amazing photographer who became the brother I never had. I later spent many years in Brazil and was enchanted by their tropical fauna and flora.

My love of nature, photography and computers have come together inspiring me to take photos and present them as best I can.

I visit Portugal as often as possible where with great friends we explore the more remote parts, camera in hand, imbibing the local delicacies along the way.

My long-suffering wife allows me to indulge my hobby, of which some of the fruits are presented here.
